Llangelynnin Old Church

Welcome to Llangelynnin Old Church in Gwynedd. There are two churches in the vicinity dedicated to St Celynnin’s, this one now known as Llangelynnin Old Church and St Celynnin’s in Llwyngwril. To add to the confusion there is another church known as Llangelynnin Old Church near Conwy and you must google Llangelynnin, Gwynedd to find the one in Bro Ystumanner!

Llangelynnin Old Church is close to the A493 coast road between Tywyn and Lwyngwril, in a stunning position on a slope above Cardigan Bay. Car access is very limited and parking is available near the main road. The Cambrian Coast main line railway passes through the hamlet of Llangelynnin but the station there has been closed.

The church dates from the 13th Century and provides spiritual calm and glorious sea views. No regular services are held but visitors are normally welcome to visit the Church every day from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.

In the event of any query the Churchwarden can be contacted on 01341 250534.
